Supply Chain Specialist

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 3 years of relevant experience in supply chain management, procurement, or vendor management.
• Working knowledge of finance and inventory accounting principles.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in inventory management software (Fishbowl preferred), QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485 medical device quality management standard.
• Knowledge of FAR standards.
• Preferred experience with government contracts and grants (e.g., NIH, HHS, and DoD).

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the Approved Vendor List (AVL), conducting supplier evaluations, audits, and maintaining supplier agreements.
• Perform supply chain risk management, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
• Negotiate pricing and payment terms with vendors to reduce material costs and optimize inventory turnover.
• Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining supplier performance.
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate and monitor supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) to address quality concerns.
• Collaborate with operations teams to define acceptance criteria for incoming goods, manage scrap, and resolve non-conforming items.
• Review vendor and supplier contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements.
• Track and present key performance metrics to the leadership team, recommending areas for improvement.
