Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 3 years of relevant experience in supply chain management, procurement, or vendor management.
- Working knowledge of finance and inventory accounting principles.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in inventory management software (Fishbowl preferred), QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 medical device quality management standard.
- Knowledge of FAR standards.
- Preferred experience with government contracts and grants (e.g., NIH, HHS, and DoD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Approved Vendor List (AVL), conducting supplier evaluations, audits, and maintaining supplier agreements.
- Perform supply chain risk management, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
- Negotiate pricing and payment terms with vendors to reduce material costs and optimize inventory turnover.
- Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining supplier performance.
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate and monitor supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) to address quality concerns.
- Collaborate with operations teams to define acceptance criteria for incoming goods, manage scrap, and resolve non-conforming items.
- Review vendor and supplier contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements.
- Track and present key performance metrics to the leadership team, recommending areas for improvement.
