Powder Coater/Sand Blaster

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Powder Coater/Sand Blaster to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous powder coating experience and be responsible for operating the blast, pre-treat, powder/paint, and curing booths. They will also be responsible for sandblasting a wide range of parts in preparation for applying powder coating finishes to various metal components and ensuring high quality standards and adherence to safety protocols. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for powder coating.
• Operate and maintain powder coating equipment.
• Transport parts to curing oven, ensuring correct temperature for proper paint adherence.
• Apply powder coatings evenly and efficiently to achieve a consistent finish.
• Inspect finished products for quality assurance and compliance with specifications.
• Utilize tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.

Skills

• Proficient in industrial painting techniques, including construction painting and airless paint spraying.
• Have a keen eye for perfection on painted parts
• Experience with forklift and other lifting equipment is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting while maintaining individual accountability.
• Ability to consistently show up to work at the start of the scheduled workday.
• Ability to keep supervisors informed of day-to-day activities.
• Ability to use sound judgment when completing day-to-day duties.

Education and/or Experience

• Must have previous powder coating experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Licensing/certification: forklift operator

Physical Demands

• This position requires the ability to frequently lift with arms and hands, as well as to stand, twist, bend, walk, and sit.
• This position requires the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and, on occasion, lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance.
• Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Work is performed in booths where PPE is required.
• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
• Moderate to loud noise level.
• Work is dirty.
