Responsibilities include providing psychotherapy services to adults and / or children, psychosocial and diagnostic assessments, completing treatment plans, and providing individual and group counseling.

The FIRST & ESMI programs are evidence-based, multidisciplinary treatment team approaches that provide comprehensive, coordinated, treatment to people with first episode psychosis (FIRST) or early severe mental illness(ESMI). This counseling position provides outreach, face-to-face screening, assessment, individual, group and family counseling services, and crisis intervention in response to requests for individuals having their first episode of a severe mental illness. This position requires working on a multidisciplinary team utilizing a trauma-informed care approach and evidenced base treatment model. The purpose of this position is to provide behavioral health care counseling services in a culturally diverse community.
Sign-on Bonus : $5,000 (dependently licensed); $10,000 (independently licensed)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides screening, assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, outreach, and individual, group and family counseling.Gathers information through intake interviews; evaluates nature and degree of mental / emotional distress, substance use / abuse, health issues, and social / interpersonal problems; develops individual service plans with clients.Conducts short and long-term therapy and / or counseling sessions with individuals, families and groups using various psychotherapeutic treatment modalities. Sessions may be conducted in a variety of settings including the main office, ancillary offices, and community settings.Coordinates treatment within the treatment teams and other agencies, services and other programs within the agency.Completes case notes on intake process, treatment plan and client’s progressProvides consultation and education services to community groups by assisting in program planning, giving educational talks and lectures to increase referrals into the FIRST / ESMI programs, outreaches existing referral sources to maintain relationships.Maintains required productivity expectation.Participates in clinical supervision and administrative meetings as required by the Clinical ManagerCreates and maintains a trauma-informed care environment that respects self-determination and the need for everyone to be treated with dignity and respect. Utilizes respectful, trauma-informed language in all aspects of the job.Reacts to change and stress productively and handles other tasks as assigned.Maintains regular, predictable attendance and is available for evening counseling sessions as needed.Gets along with others and works as a team.Exhibits the knowledge, skills, abilities, and minimum requirements listed in this Position Announcement.If bi-lingual, provides translation and interpretive service to clients needing these servicesHas / maintains a good on-time and attendance record.Other tasks as assigned.Requirements :
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
In order to perform the essential functions of this job, after an orientation period, the employee must possess the following : a working knowledge of Riveon Mental Health and Recovery Policy and Procedures, including sensitivity and adherence to clients’ rights, confidentiality, and health and safety issues.Must exhibit sensitivity to different cultures.WORKING CONDITIONS
The majority of time is spent in an office environment and involves substantial client contact; however, sessions may be conducted in a variety of settings including community settings.The individual must be able to speak and communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.Due to the amount of paperwork that is required, the individual must have excellent documentation skills.The employee may be required to sit for extended periods and will spend a portion of their time on the telephone.Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, and lift and push minimal loads at various times.A considerable amount of time may also be spent working on a computer so the employee should have close vision ability. In addition, the individual must be able to operate basic office equipment.REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
A master’s degree in a mental health related field with the following license is required : LSW or LPC. LISW or LPCC preferred.Experience in assessment, crisis intervention, conducting long and short-term therapy and counseling or other experience in the treatment of mental health / chemical abuse are preferred.Candidates with educational backgrounds and training in first episode psychosis, early severe mental illness or transitional age youth population a plus. Must have strong oral and written skills.Basic computer skills required, including familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office.Must be highly skilled at behavioral health screening / assessment and counseling in both chemical abuse and mental illness, making appropriate referral, and working effectively under pressure.The necessity for travel in this job requires that the employee possess a valid Ohio driver's license, a clean driving record, have proof of adequate personal automobile insurance, and use of a personal vehicle.Must have favorable references and / or evaluations.Bilingual (English / Spanish speaking) major plus.Experience with EHR (electronic health records) a plus.
