Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and layout of concrete forms and structures for foundations, sidewalks, driveways, and other concrete surfaces.
  • Operate and maintain basic construction equipment (e.g., mixers, power trowels, vibrators).
  • Perform concrete finishing tasks such as smoothing, leveling, and polishing surfaces to specified finishes.
  • Ensure all work meets company standards and safety requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and foremen, including understanding and applying project plans and drawings.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Handle materials and tools safely and responsibly.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Arrive on time for all shifts, with reliable transportation.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Some previous experience as a concrete finisher or laborer; familiarity with basic construction equipment is preferred.
  • Equipment Skills: Ability to operate basic concrete tools and machinery (e.g., power trowels, skid steer's, mini excavators, etc.).
  • Teamwork: Able to work well with others in a team environment and contribute positively to group efforts.
  • Communication: Good listening skills and the ability to take and follow instructions.
  • Work Ethic: Strong motivation to complete tasks with quality and efficiency; ability to work independently when needed.
  • Punctuality: Reliable, with consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Transportation: Must have access to a reliable vehicle for transportation to and from the job site.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions for extended periods.

Additional Skills (Preferred but not Required):

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in concrete work.
  • Previous experience working on larger-scale construction projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or project plans.

Expected hours: 35 – 55 per week
