What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Generalist position at River Bend Casino?
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for a variety of projects and functions within the HR department. Due to the general nature of the work, the Generalist will be expected to be involved with any, and all, aspects of the HR department.
Key Responsibilities
1. Acts as Project Manager for a variety of HR related projects.
2. Assists HR Manager in maintaining the HRIS database from the front end.
3. Creates, organizes, plans, and/or presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, and appropriate training for new employees.
4. Coordinates creation of training procedure manuals, guides, and course material for various positions.
5. Acts as a liaison between management and workforce, facilitating communications.
6. Posts and recruits for open positions.
7. Ensures compliance with Gaming license application process.
8. Researches, creates, and distributes various reports.
9. Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
10. Communicates effectively with co-workers, management and guests.
11. Handles a variety of HR Generalist duties as required, including additional responsibilities assigned by the HR Manager.
12. Operates as an emergency Pull/Count Team member as required.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
Educational/Experience: Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of 3 years of human resources experience in a generalist, supervisory, or managerial role.
Licenses/Certifications: Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Wyandotte Nation Gaming License and any other licenses or permits required by local, State, Federal and/or Wyandotte Nation. SHRM or HRCI certification a plus.
Skills/Knowledge: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the skills, knowledge, and/or abilities required:
1. Extremely computer proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
2. Very numbers-oriented with excellent Excel spreadsheet skills.
3. Comfortable speaking and communicating effectively with individuals and before groups of people.
4. Reliable, punctual, collaborative, communicate effectively with all teammates, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
5. Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business demands.
6. Read, write, understand, and effectively communicate the English language.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
1. Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry 50lbs in emergency situations.
2. Ability to work in areas containing high noise levels, blinking lights, and second hand smoke.
3. Employee smoking is restricted to outside location and during break times.
4. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
5. Ability to sit, stand, and walk for entirety of shift as required to conduct normal assigned duties.
