Duties and Responsibilities

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
- Participates as part of the Leadership Team
- Participates in meetings as required
- Oversee nursing department and nursing staff (competencies, scheduling, termination, etc.)
- Assist in implementing education for nursing staff
- Serve as a mentor for nurses
- Review all medical documentation and conduct regular quality assurance and quality improvement reviews to ensure that all appropriate record-keeping is performed on a timely basis
- Assess and evaluate staff; develop methods to use and enhance strengths and to isolate and minimize weaknesses
- Assess and evaluate potential patient referrals
- Act as a liaison with families when there is a medical concern

- Associate’s degree required

- Minimum one year work experience in management/administration
- Minimum two year work experience in an inpatient healthcare setting
Licensure/registration/certification
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Mississippi or hold a Registered Nurse compact license (Multi-State Licensure)
