About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual to work as a Construction Operations Technician. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing various tasks that require physical labor on construction sites. Your primary goal will be to assist the construction craft worker or electrician, ensuring the successful completion of projects while maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of a Foreman to independently undertake specific phases of work and direct others in completing their goals.
- Monitor and direct heavy equipment operators, such as track hoes and loaders, from the ground during excavation operations.
- Cut and thread steel pipe, assisting in fitting and installation on underground and above-ground tanks.
- Assist with shooting grades and simple paperwork.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site according to the Foreman's direction.
- Ensure a safe job site by setting up signs, safety barricades, and devices, wearing proper personal protective equipment.
- Keep tools organized, cleaned, and stored on the truck or job trailer.
- Maintain accurate job inventory per the Foreman's directions.
- Communicate and anticipate potential problems to help plan and prevent issues.
- Present the Company image and maintain personal appearance.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a construction truck and tow small trailers when needed.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to read a blueprint.
- Basic math and mechanical skills.
- Experience in HVAC, pipefitting, petroleum construction, or related field.
- Must meet company employment requirements, including passing a drug screen, criminal background check, and MVR (if driving for the company).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, standing for 8-10 hours per day.
