What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Intern (Summer - End of Senior Year) position at River Cities Engineering?
Position Summary
All work will be performed in accordance with all guidelines regarding employment of minors under Iowa Code Chapter 92 and OSHA’s Young Worker regulations. The High School Intern(s) will assist with various manufacturing tasks and projects. This role is designed to provide practical experience in a manufacturing environment by providing support to all personnel pertaining to all shop-related activities & responsibilities.
Essential Functions of Position (Interns may perform some or all of the following tasks)
· Learns and assists with control panel assembly procedures
· Ensures functionality and appearance expectations of projects are met
· Assists with manufacturing tasks and ongoing projects.
· Participates in basic quality control methods to ensure product standards.
· Helps document manufacturing processes and procedures.
· Assists with maintaining a clean and organized shop floor.
· Participates in regular cleanup activities to ensure a safe and efficient working environment
· Helps organize tools, materials, and workstations
· Assists with receiving inbound deliveries and putting away materials
· Assists with the handling and movement of materials and parts through the shop
· Ensures proper storage and organization of materials.
· Helps track and manage inventory levels
· Understands and follows all safety regulations in all work environments
· Prints labels and may assist with tagging wires, cables, devices, and equipment neatly and properly
· Represents and promotes the company in a positive and professional manner
· Performs other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
· Must be a current high school student
· Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
· Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
· Must possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written skills
· Must be able to actively listen to instructions and communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
· Must have effective organizational and time management skills.
· Must be safety oriented and show a constant focus on safety and supports a safe work environment
· Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
· Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Education
Must be enrolled in high school.
