Position Purpose
The OSP Crew Lead is responsible for overseeing fiber construction operations, ensuring the safe and efficient installation of conduit, pulling conductor, and fiber, as well as performing necessary repairs and restorations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a 3–4-man crew on OSP construction projects
- Operate and oversee the use of construction equipment such as plows and mini excavators (mini x)
- Safely dig in proximity to live cables
- Jet and blow fiber cable through conduct when required
- Interpret design prints and accurately complete as-builts
- Report daily production and work completed
- Maintain clear and professional communication with customers and team members
- Ensure job site safety and compliance with regulations
- Travel as needed (primarily within NC); hotels and per diem covered

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, team-members may frequently be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Team members are occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction sites. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Communication line construction work is performed outside and is subject to diverse weather conditions.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in OSP construction or closely related field
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable interacting with customers and internal teams
- Prior experience leading a construction or telecom crew
- Proficient in reading and understanding construction prints
- Experience with plowing, trenching, and fiber blowing
- Comfortable using computers and basic software (experience a plus)
- Aerial experience is a plus
- CDL is a plus
