Position Purpose
The Underground Distribution Foreman works as a first level supervisor and is responsible for supervising crews involved in the planning and execution of the installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of underground electric distribution and service lines, transformers, meters, metering equipment, electrical substations, and related equipment.
Responsibilities/Duties/Knowledge:
- Work safely while supervising crew members in the construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized underground electrical systems
- Competent in the skills required to construct, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair energized and deenergized underground conductors
- Efficiently manage resources such as labor, material, and equipment during the planning and execution of daily schedule
- Develop and deliver Pre-Job Briefing and ensure participation by all crew members, visitors, and support personnel
- Lead, motivate, and train junior employees
- Enforce company policies to include safety regulations and standards
- Provide direct supervision & technical guidance to Linemen, Apprentices and Groundmen
- Completes reports and forms related to assigned projects
- Communicates and interacts with Customer Oversites and customers
- Plan and Setup Temporary Traffic Control Work Zones or work with third party contractors to complete TTCWZ
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, job prints, and comprehend scope of work.
- All other duties as assigned

- While performing the duties of this job, team-members are regularly required to talk or listen. The team-member is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- The team-member is frequently required to perform rigorous physical labor; sit; climb different types of structures (wood, steel, etc.); or balance; and stoop, kneel crouch or crawl. Team-members frequently lift or move up to or in-excess of 80 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, team-members may frequently be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Team-members are occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Powerline construction work is performed outside and is subject to diverse weather conditions.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a journey-level lineman engaged in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of distribution electrical systems
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Able to read and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to travel and work for extended periods in various locations.
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
