Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional dental care. The ideal candidate will assist the dentist during procedures, ensure a smooth workflow in the clinic, and maintain a welcoming environment for patients. A strong understanding of dental terminology and infection control practices is essential, along with experience in pediatrics being a plus.

Duties

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including medical documentation and treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow, acting as a dental receptionist when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Implement infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to provide high-quality care in a pediatric setting when required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role preferred.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is essential.
  • Familiarity with medical coding and documentation practices is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in using dental software such as Epic is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
  • Commitment to continuous learning about advancements in dental care practices and technologies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.13 - $18.05 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
