Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional dental care. The ideal candidate will assist the dentist during procedures, ensure a smooth workflow in the clinic, and maintain a welcoming environment for patients. A strong understanding of dental terminology and infection control practices is essential, along with experience in pediatrics being a plus.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical documentation and treatment plans.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow, acting as a dental receptionist when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Implement infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide high-quality care in a pediatric setting when required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is essential.
- Familiarity with medical coding and documentation practices is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Epic is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.

Pay: $17.13 - $18.05 per hour
