River City Domestic Violence Center exists to help break the cycle of abuse. Abuse doesn't just happen 8-5. Our on-call advocates provide crisis intervention outside of business hours so no one is ever alone. We are always a phone call away.

Responsibilities-
- Qualified individuals will provide immediate crisis intervention by responding to the 24-hour crisis hotline on assigned weeknights and weekends, with holidays included on a rotating schedule.
- Respond to crisis calls as soon as they come in, no call is to be left unanswered.
- On call hours are 5:00pm to 8:30am Monday-Thursday. Weekend hours are 5:00pm Friday-8:30am Monday.
- During your scheduled on call hours, you must be able-bodied to respond to a crisis in a timely fashion.
- Typically, one weeknight per week and one full weekend per month.
- Ability to act quickly and compassionately in all situations.
This is not a part time job. It is on-call when you are assigned. Schedules are made a month in advance. You receive a stipend for carrying the phone and an hourly wage for crisis response (usually less than 5hrs a month).
