What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney position at River City Law?
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and contracts
- Assist with case management and preparation for hearings and trials
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the legal process
- Attend court proceedings and represent clients in litigation matters
- Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients
Experience:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar association
- Strong knowledge of legal principles and procedures
- Proficiency in legal drafting, including pleadings, motions, and contracts
- Experience conducting legal research using Westlaw or Lexis-Nexis
- Ability to litigate cases and represent clients in court
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience and benefits. This is an associate attorney position and we are open to hiring an attorney out of law school and starting as second chair to get experience. We primarily focus in family law, but do have other civil litigation cases. We have a partner track and bonus structure based upon billable hours.
