What are the responsibilities and job description for the Propane Bobtail Delivery Driver position at River Country Cooperative?
General Summary: Propane Drivers are responsible for providing timely, accurate, and safe deliveries of propane.
Essential Functions:
- Provides excellent customer service.
- Communicates frequently with dispatchers and customers.
- Inspect vehicle, tools and safety gear before and after use according to DOT and company maintenance checklist.
- Assure the truck remains in proper and safe working order and that routine maintenance occurs on a timely basis.
- Comply with all Federal, State, and local laws regulating safe driving and the safe and proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Immediately notify the Dispatcher of malfunctioning equipment or condition that needs immediate action and follow up with manager.
- Receive DOT and Hazmat training regularly.
- Obtain signatures or receipts for delivered good and collect payment when required.
- Maneuver trucks safely into loading and unloading position.
Educations/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED, combined with sufficient on-the-job experience to know the processes and safety requirements to deliver propane. Minimum of 5 years tank driving experience. Current CDL Class B with HazMat Endorsement and Medical card are required. Become CETP certified with 30 days of start date.

Environment: Regular work schedules. However, overtime may be required if necessary to complete projects or specialized training. This position works exclusively outdoors occasionally in extreme heat or cold. No travel is required.
Physical: This position is defined as Very Heavy. Work involves exerting between 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 50 pounds of force constantly to move, push or pull objects. Uses any combination of body, hands, fingers, arms, legs, and feet to complete tasks. Walking or standing and sitting to a significant degree.
