Crisis Service Worker

As a Crisis Service Worker, you will respond to children, youth, and adults who experience a behavioral crisis in a community setting. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, River Edge provides individualized crisis de-escalation interventions, in-home supports, and residential alternatives to emergency room visits, law enforcement involvement, or another institutional placement.
River Edge is seeking a Crisis Service Worker position in our Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Crisis Division.
What you will do in this role:
- Monitor general client activity to observe and report behavior/progress and when necessary intervene in problem situations using established CPI procedures.
- Provide training and or direction to clients in a variety of areas depending on client needs.
- Complete required documentation in client/unit records as assigned.
- Participate in providing a clean, safe, and attractive environment for clients, visitors, and staff.
- Assist with the Client's Admission and Discharge process.
- Orient new clients to the facility as directed by the charge nurse.
- Attend required meetings, training and educational opportunities as required (at least 17 hours per year) Must stay current in CPI, CPR, and First Aid.
Shifts offered are as follows:
Monday-Friday 7a3p OR 3p11p OR Friday/Saturday/Sunday 9p9a
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least a high school diploma/GED equivalent
- Must have a valid state driver's license
- Acceptable Driving record
- Acceptable background check
- Must pass a drug screen
- Acceptable references
- Ability to pass basic CPR and first aid
