The Billingslea Recovery Residence is a long-term residential facility that provides a supportive alcohol and drug free environment in a community setting. This service will enhance alternately funded detoxification service and are about six to twelve months. This service is provided to adult males, age 21 to 65, with substance abuse issues residing in Bibb, Jones, Monroe, and Twiggs counties.
Responsibilities:
Takes vital signs and reports finding to the nurse.
Bathes, grooms, shaves, and dresses clients if needed/indicated.
Prepares clients for treatment or examination.
Feeds clients who cannot feed themselves.
Transports/accompanies clients to unit areas, using a wheelchair if needed/indicated.
Conducts recreation and socialization activities for clients.
Drives a company vehicle and keeps their Defensive Driving certification updated.
Provides group training to clients regarding wellness and recovery tools if assigned.
Assist with admissions/discharge process as assigned.
Schedule:
The shift for this position is 3pm-11pm or 4pm-12 midnight and every other Saturday & Sunday.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED certification required.
Must complete / retain certifications in the following: CPR/FA/AED, CPI Defensive Driving (if assigned), various safety trainings, Essential Learning courses are required, and any other courses or certifications assigned/required.
Knowledge of simple nursing care, first-aid, personal care, and hygiene basics.
Must have good interpersonal skills, the ability to interface with clients, co-workers, and others.
