Billing Specialist
River Edge Behavioral Health is recognized for its state-of-the-art treatment and support services for more than 13,000 children, youth, families, and adults annually who experience mental illness, addiction, co-occurring disorders, and substance abuse problems. Location: 175 Emery Highway, Macon, GA 31217
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
Responsibilities:
Accurately post payments to individual accounts in electronic medical record within one week of receipt of payment.
Make necessary changes to denied claims and resubmit for payment or accurately post denial to individual accounts into electronic medical record as an uncollectible claim within two weeks of notification of denial.
Prepare reconciliation report of payments by program within one week of receipt of payment.
Batch/submit Medicare, Medicaid, State Contracted Services and Care Management Organization claims weekly.
Import 835 payments files from payers weekly.
Help and support clerical and clinical staff, related to billing and insurance resolution.
Qualifications Needed (education and/or experience):
High School Diploma or GED.
2-3 years knowledge and experience of Commercial Insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid programs billing and payment processing.
Knowledge of CPT and ICD- 10
Knowledge of Carelogic and or electronic medical records.
Preferred Qualifications: Medical billing and coding diploma/certification.
Experience with 835 payment processing and 837-batch submission.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Problem-solving skills, Strong Customer Service background.
Ability to work in fast-paced work environment, Strong organizational skill.
