The Crisis Service and Diagnostic Center is a program designed to offer individual tailored assistance and brief (up to 90-day) stabilization for a maximum of sixteen (16) adults aged 18 and above, who have intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or concurrent mental health diagnoses. These individuals are experiencing psychiatric symptoms and/or significant emotional/behavioral changes that negatively impact their functioning and jeopardize their ability to stay in their usual home environment.
Location/Schedule – 750 Hazel Street, Macon Georgia Rotating 12- hour shifts Sun-Sat 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am
Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals in crisis with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility.
- Implement interventions developed by behavior analysts in behavior support plan to prevent challenging behaviors and ensure the safety of individuals in crisis.
- Implement de-escalation strategies to reduce and prevent harmful behaviors during crisis situations.
- Closely work with the behavior analyst, other members of the treatment team, and facility staff to coordinate crisis management approaches and ensure consistency in behavior support strategies.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of observations, interventions, and outcomes related to skill acquisition, crisis incidents, and individual care.
- Maintain open communication channels with nursing staff, individuals, families, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and effective crisis resolution.
- Address any personnel issues to promote a productive and supportive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies relevant to crisis services.
Qualifications Needed (education and/or experience):
- Requires High School Diploma.
- At least 2 years working in behavioral health, with individuals intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), or related field
- Must have good computer skills.
- Communications skills and the ability to foster good relationships among others is a plus.
- Preferred IDD experience
