River Edge offers outpatient services at our Emery Highway-Macon, Monroe County and Baldwin County locations. Outpatient services include behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment, stabilization and medication maintenance services as well as crisis intervention services as well as awareness, education and recovery groups.
The new River Edge Recovery Center is a residential alternative to our diversion from inpatient hospitalization. We offer 24-hour walk-in outpatient services, 23-hour observation unit, crisis residential psychiatric stabilization and medically monitored detoxification services.

Job Title: Recovery Center Trainer
Overview: The Educational Trainer for the Recovery Center is responsible for developing, implementing, and facilitating training programs aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of staff and stakeholders in all crisis programs. This role requires a deep understanding of mental health issues, effective teaching methodologies, and the ability to engage and inspire learners. The role also requires a knowledge of the Recovery Center policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
Design and create comprehensive training materials and curricula focused on mental health topics, including but not limited to mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and best practices in patient care.
Ensure that all training content is up to date with the latest research, techniques, and compliance standards.
Training Facilitation:
Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions for various audiences, including healthcare professionals, support staff, and community members.
Utilize diverse teaching methods, such as workshops, seminars, and online modules, to accommodate different learning styles.
Over see that all staff in any crisis program attend crisis orientation and keep up with all other training.
Assessment and Evaluation:
Develop assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and participant understanding.
Collect feedback and data to continuously improve training content and delivery methods.
Collaboration:
Work closely with mental health professionals, administrators, and external organizations to identify training needs and opportunities for collaboration.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to share insights and contribute to holistic care approaches.
Resource Management:
Maintain an organized repository of training materials and resources for easy access by staff. - Stay informed about new tools, technologies, and resources relevant to mental health education.
Qualifications:
RN degree.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health with a strong understanding of mental health issues and treatment approaches.
Knowledge and understanding of Recovery Center policies and procedures.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences.
