The Certified Pharmacy Technician prepares and dispenses medications under the supervision of a pharmacist, including compounding, labelling, and preparing sterile intravenous solutions. This role also involves supporting prescription processing, entering patient data, operating dispensing technology, and providing professional customer service to patients and healthcare providers.

Location/Schedule: 175 Emery Highway, Macon, GA 31217
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. May measure, mix, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications.
- Enters medical and demographic data into a computer and assists in production and preparation of reports.
- Fills bottles with prescribed medications and types and affixes labels.
- Prices and files prescriptions that have been filled.
- Receives prescription requests (both written and phoned in) and verifies that information is complete and accurate.
- Assist customers, answer the phone, do whatever professionally necessary to assist clients/customers.
- National certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Health career Association (NHA).
- Current registration with the Georgia Board of Pharmacy
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Georgia Driver’s license
- All applicants must pass a satisfactory background clearance and pre-employment drug test.
- Provide 2 Professional references (Former employers only, no family members).
- Experience in behavioral health pharmacy is beneficial but not required.
- Retail pharmacy experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office or relevant pharmacy-specific software.
- Ability to accurately read prescriptions, use the metric system for weighing and measuring, and understand basic medical terminology and drug names/synonyms.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
