Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement employee relations strategies and programs that support organizational objectives.
- Advise senior leadership on employee relations trends, risks, and best practices.
- Ensure company policies and procedures align with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Oversee complex workplace investigations related to employee complaints, harassment, discrimination, and other workplace issues.
- Assists managers and supervisors in understanding and implementing company policies related to performance, discipline, and related topics.
- Provide guidance to managers and HR staff on conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure consistent and fair application of company policies and practices.
- Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations, ensuring company policies remain compliant.
- Partner with Risk Management and HR teams to mitigate risks associated with employee relations matters.
- Prepare reports on employee relations metrics, trends, and outcomes.
- Design and deliver training programs for managers and HR staff on employee relations topics, including conflict resolution, investigations, and employment law.
- Foster a culture of open communication and mutual respect within the organization.
- Work closely with the HR team, Risk Management, and Executive Leadership to address employee relations concerns.
- Other duties as assigned
- Master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. A minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role focused on employee relations, may be substituted for educational requirements.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent required. May obtain within the first year of hire.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Proven experience conducting complex workplace investigations and resolving employee conflicts.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality.
- Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Thorough understanding of human resources and labor relations principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent management skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with employees, boards, officials, directors, and other stakeholders.
- Working understanding of statistical concepts and methods of data collection.
- Ability to compile, research, and analyze information.
- Ability to compose and present comprehensive reports.
- Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
