River Oaks Baptist School is looking for a Communications Associate to reinforce the School's mission and sustain the School's voice through internal and external communications. The Communications Associate reports to the Director of Communications and serves as a member of the Advancement Council.
Essential Responsibilities
The Director of Communications will assign duties to the Communications Associate including, but not limited to, the following :
Creating, editing, and sending mass electronic communications to the school community for all school departments (i.e., grade-level announcements, division communications, etc.)Writing and editing a variety of content, including website copy, blog posts, press releases, donor reports, strategic messaging, and social media postsAssisting the development of digital marketing strategiesContributing to the development of donor stewardship materialsDeveloping and maintaining a regular cadence of communication for key administratorsCollaborating with Enrollment Management Office to produce strategic messaging for admission-related purposesUpdating and maintaining the school website, including oversight of structure, content, and appropriate analyticsWriting articles for the annual magazineAligning social media content with overall messaging strategiesMaintaining the school's internal website (parent portal) by developing and editing relevant contentSupporting crisis communication planning and response as neededOther projects as assignedPosition Requirements
A bachelor's degree, with coursework in marketing, communications, English, education, or other related field helpfulOne to two years of related work experienceExceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a keen eye for detailStrong ability to distill complex information into clear, engaging, and mission-driven contentExceptional copyediting skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) applicationsAn ideal candidate will have :
