What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Director position at River Park Senior Living?
To support our thriving program, we're looking for an enthusiastic and responsible Activities Director who can play a pivotal role in the success of our organization. The ideal candidate will be able to oversee all operations and ensure that activities are conducted in a safe, effective and timely manner. Individuals interested in this challenging position should have experience planning activities and a friendly outgoing personality.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Activity Department to assure that an ongoing program of activities is designed to meet the interests and wellbeing of each resident.
- Develop and promptly distribute a monthly activities calendar and newsletter for residents and family members.
- Coordinate and schedule outside vendors and presenters.
- Create and perform activities that engage each resident.
- Participation in community event planning with the marketing staff.
- Making routine visits with residents/participating in the development of resident care plans.
- Planning, preparing, and operating under the Activities budget.
- Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field such as social work, recreational therapy, or gerontology preferred
- 2 years experience working in senior living environment, and/or social activity leadership
- Previous supervisory and/or management experience in a related setting preferred
- Ability to establish effective relationships with residents, families, and team members
- CNA, or previous experience working with the elderly in a residential or long-term care setting preferred
- 2 year of professional driving experience in the operation of a bus or van used for transporting clients preferred
- Valid state driver’s license with a safe driving record
Candidates must successfully pass a DOJ background check and a physical examination. All pre-employment processing costs are covered by us.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
