Radiology Scheduling Coordinator

We are looking for a Scheduler whose position is responsible for scheduling exams, providing optimum service to the patient and supporting the department to effectively and efficiently maximize schedules.

Essential Functions:

• Scheduling patients for nine modalities in a friendly and courteous manner answering patient questions and concerns while being organized & efficient.
• Obtains and verifies authorizations/eligibilities prior to the performance of exams & perform insurance verifications.
• Use of forms related with the scheduling position i.e.: STAT, nurse alert, PET scheduling tool, etc.
• Instruct exam preparations to patients in accordance with established procedures.
• Answers all phone calls in a timely manner, takes messages, provides information adhering to telephone etiquette protocols
• Input/update patient information in our medical system & have accurate data entry skills.
• Communicate with the Physicians, medical offices, patients and family as well as insurance companies.
• Participate in various projects and/or meetings, and complete other tasks as assigned by management.
• Knowledge of computers, fax machines and other related office equipment.
• Responsible to communicate scheduling issues with management.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and radiology procedures and requirements.
• Detail-oriented and follow through with information or need of information.
• Cross-train and help in other departments if needed.
• Any other duties assigned by Office Manager.

Position is Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm.
