Job Title: Adult Intensive Community Support Specialist
Department: Crisis Intervention
SUMMARY: Responsible for providing crisis case management services to needy consumer’s 24-hours daily. Receives limited supervision from department head and has considerable contact with individuals outside the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING DUTIES. ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS MAY BE IDENTIFIED BY THE COMPANY AND LISTED AS SUCH IN THE INCUMBENT'S PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL ELEMENTS. VARIOUS TASKS MAY BE ASSIGNED UNDER EACH ESSENTIAL FUNCTION. THOSE THAT ARE LISTED UNDER THE EXAMPLES OF WORK ARE NOT ALL INCLUSIVE; THEY ARE EXAMPLES ONLY AND MAY BE AMENDED OR ADDED TO AS NEEDED BY WARREN-YAZOO MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE.

EXAMPLES OF WORK
(Any one (1) position of this class may not include all duties listed, nor do listed examples include all duties, which may be found in positions of this class).
Assist consumers in crisis and attempt to initiate a solution.
Provide supportive counseling to consumer and family members daily.
Provide medication monitoring as needed (24 hours daily).
Provide linkage and referral to other agencies.
Provide consumers with important information concerning the use of drugs and alcohol; and medication or diagnosis.
Encourage weekly participation to consumers.
Provide prescreening evaluations when needed.
Conduct consumer home visits.
Maintain caseload records.
Document all activities with consumers and family (collatoral).
Submit all paperwork and monthly reports accordingly (contact, units).
Report to supervisor any problems sited with consumer cases.
Provide transportation when necessary.
Attend meetings when necessary.
Assist with dual diagnosis group sessions weekly.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (BA) from four year college or university and 2 years related experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must be licensed eligible by their licensing body or the Department of Mental Health
Valid driver’s license
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
