MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or satisfactory completion of state approved High School Equivalency (HSE) Testing Program.  One year of satisfactory experience as a School Nutrition Assistant Manager.  Completion of Georgia Department of Education Manager and Culinary Pathway coursework and CCSD Manager in Training course.  Passing score on the ServSafe National Certification test.  Advanced knowledge of quantity food service, sanitation and nutrition. Basic computer literacy required. Advanced managerial skills.


GOAL
Provide excellent customer service to students, staff and visitors in an efficient and professional manner. Responsible for the entire School Nutrition Program operation at the assigned school level, including recordkeeping, supervision of employees and performing skilled work in the management and operation of a School Nutrition Program in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.


REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the School Nutrition program in compliance with all federal, state, local and Board policies and procedures.

  • Maintain food cost control through planning, forecasting, ordering and receiving.

  • Manages a financially sound school nutrition program including organization, delegation and supervision of personnel.

  • Direct, train, and supervise school nutrition employees.

  • Assist in receiving and storing food and other supplies in cooler, freezer and dry storage area.
  • Assist as needed in all phases of food production: cooking, baking, serving, cashiering and other duties.
  • Ensure the meals and servings are adequate and appealing.

  • Keep all required records and reports accurately and up-to-date in accordance with system, community, state, and federal regulations.

  • Operate the school nutrition program in a financially sound manner.

  • Supervise and inspect the general cleaning of the kitchen facilities.

  • Supervise dishwashing and proper storage of all trays and cooking utensils.

  • Implement state/local health codes as they relate to food service and ensure sanitation and safety procedures are followed at all times.

  • Prepares a daily work schedule and cleaning schedule for all School Nutrition employees including amounts of food to prepare and records and tasks to complete

  • Collects, counts and prepares deposit for all School Nutrition Program monies received on a daily basis.

  • Maintains ServSafe Certification

  • Develop and monitor safety policies and procedures for all employees.

  • Strive to improve the school nutrition program.

  • Plan equipment needs and repairs with the School Nutrition Executive Director.

  • Attend all managers meetings and in-service training programs.

  • Maintain a positive attitude toward job.

  • Maintain a positive attitude with employees, students and school staff.

  • Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.

  • Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.

  • Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to the assignment.

  • Review current developments, literature and technical source information related to job responsibilities.

  • Maintain perpetual inventory and daily food usage using technology-based program.

  • Submit weekly orders using technology-based program, including but not limited to: time keeping, inventory, production planning, etc.

  • Enter monthly physical inventory using technology-based program.

  • Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.

  • Follow federal and state laws, as well as Board policies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
