At River Ridge Rehab and Nursing, our Unit Manager ( Rehab Treatment Nurse) plays a pivotal role in caring for and rehabilitating residents. This position demands clinical expertise, leadership abilities, and a compassionate approach to patient care. The primary responsibility of the Rehab Charge Nurse is to oversee and coordinate the rehabilitation efforts within the nursing home, ensuring that residents receive the highest quality of care to improve their health and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to residents, including administering medication treatments and monitoring vital signs.
- Assess the health status of residents and develop comprehensive care plans tailored to their specific needs.
- Coordinate and collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and modify them as necessary to meet the changing needs of residents.
- Educate residents and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies to promote recovery and independence.
- Provide direct care by monitoring residents and coordinating with others.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain accurate and up-to-date resident care documentation.
- Collaborate with facility management to develop and manage the rehabilitation department budget.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a rehabilitation or geriatric care setting.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of rehabilitation nursing practices.
- Excellent leadership and team-building abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technologies.
