Job Responsibilities: 

• Work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team to develop/design and implement appropriate services.
• Provide appropriate guidance, leadership and direction within the classroom.
• May teach multiple subject areas.
• Maintain student confidentiality per agency policy. FERPA/HIPAA privacy rule regulations and student confidentiality. 
• Monitor student progress through tracking and assessing student development, making necessary adjustments to keep them on the path to success. 
• Responsible for managing challenging behaviors and implementing behavior support plans when needed. 
• Work closely with paraprofessionals, support staff, and parents to build a supportive, inclusive learning environment. 
• Advocate for students ensuring compliance with educational laws and advocate for the rights and needs of students with disabilities. 
• Create a positive and engaging learning space where every student feels supported and can thrive. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in special education, education, or a related field from an accredited institution. 
• Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with students, parents, and staff. 
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team. 
• Passion for Special Education, demonstrated by patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students with special needs succeed. 

Preferred/Nice to have: 

• Valid PA Teaching Certification in Special Education (sponsorship available). 
• Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
