What are the responsibilities and job description for the Campground Facilities Maintenance position at River's Edge Apple River Tubing and Camping?
Position Overview:
The primary responsibilities of the maintenance and grounds team member is to perform and complete routine cleanliness, maintenance, and repair to the grounds, structures, equipment and related utilities. The maintenance and grounds team member will promote and exhibit skills with an emphasis on quality.
Essential duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintenance
- Skilled in use of commercial hand and power tools such as saws, lawnmowers, shovels, blowers and on occasion operates ride-on mowers, truck (w plow), heavy machinery, and tractors.
- Operate the safe operation of equipment; which may include, but not limited to a tractor, backhoe, post hole auger, dump truck, skid steer, and various power and hand tools
- Perform and/or assist in various electrical and plumbing repairs, sewer and waterline repairs, painting, staining, and building repair work
- Oversee and/or perform daily pool maintenance
- Schedule and complete routine restroom maintenance, cleaning, inspection, and restocking
- Service maintenance equipment including but not limited to trucks, tractors, line trimmers, chainsaws, power tools etc.
- Perform snow removal, event set-up, litter pick-up, recycle and trash management tasks.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed, and prioritize maintenance projects, identify problem areas, implement solutions, and assure projects meet goals and standards
- Perform all duties in a safe and professional manner in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures
- Monitor work sites to assure that safety rules and regulations are adhered to, and that the work zones and all equipment are in safe operating condition.

Skills and Knowledge:

- Operate department equipment and machinery, such as a truck, trailer, skid steer, back-hoe, wastewater pump, etc., in order to complete daily duties and road improvements
- Demonstrate proficiency in utilities systems, campsite preparation and construction
- Possess verbal and written communication skills
- Address visitor complaints, emergency situations, and other stressful work issues while maintaining a professional demeanor
- Establish, maintain and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Knowledge/experience of electrical and plumbing equipment and installation.
- Ability to work long and flexible hours; to include, days, nights, weekends, and holidays
