Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate reconciliation and reporting of business accounts, including bank statements and credit cards, and the auditing of financial records on a quarterly, monthly, or yearly basis. This role encompasses financial preparation, analysis of accounts, and the identification and resolution of financial variances and inaccuracies. The Senior Accountant must implement corrective actions as needed, comply with financial and tax regulations, and make independent decisions regarding the operations of the Accounting Department.

Duties

• Provide financial insights to management by analyzing accounting data and preparing comprehensive reports.
• Protect company operations and maintain the confidentiality of financial information.
• Prepare entries for assets, liabilities, and capital accounts by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Document financial transactions and maintain accurate records.
• Recommend financial actions by evaluating accounting options and scenarios.
• Summarize current financial status through the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and additional reports as required.
• Verify the accuracy of financial transactions by auditing documentation.
• Maintain and enhance accounting controls by developing and recommending policies and procedures.
• Oversee and guide accounting staff, addressing questions and coordinating activities.
• Resolve financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Secure financial information by performing regular database backups.
• Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls.
• Prepare and verify payments, ensuring all documentation meets compliance standards.
• Address accounting procedure inquiries by interpreting policies and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial laws by monitoring legislation and advising management on necessary actions.
• Develop specialized financial reports by analyzing and summarizing trends and account information.
