A day in the life...
Our ideal Manager comes with an appetite to provide excellent guest service, be a coach & guide to both the Front of House & Culinary Team. Be a partner with the Kitchen lead and Hotel General Manager to collaborate on processes and continue to craft new inventive ways to build our reputation both with the local community and visitors. We live by the “team” mentality and tend to stay clear of those that may say “that’s not my job.” Our culture is one of “hands on” and we want people who love what they do
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, including opening/closing procedures and all food & beverage outlets
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise Service, Culinary, and Banquet teams
- Lead weekly management meetings (Leadership, Revenue, BEO, Daily Line-Up) and maintain open communication across departments
- Handle all aspects of personnel management, including interviews, training, compliance, performance reviews, and terminations
- Ensure outstanding guest experiences, resolve issues promptly, and foster strong employee and guest relations
- Manage payroll, gratuities, service fees, and labor forecasting
- Monitor inventory, oversee all wine, liquor, and food purchases, and manage bi-annual inventory counts
- Establish and enforce SOPs to enhance service, efficiency, and compliance
- Collaborate with Sales and serve as the main point of contact for banquet and catered events
- Schedule and coordinate banquet set-up and service staff
- Develop promotions to drive revenue and profitability
- Monitor budgets, forecasts, variance reports, and daily sales using Accumatica, ProfitSword, and Avero
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and HR policies, and maintain cleanliness and compliance standards
- Represent the property at key networking and PR events
The Restaurant Manager will report to the River Terrace Inn General Manager, and will work closely with the Culinary, HR, Accounting, Payroll and other departments as needed.
You own this if you have ...
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a similar leadership role
- Strong background in food and beverage service and operations
- In-depth understanding of restaurant management, including POS systems and software
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Must meet all governmental regulations related to the sale of alcoholic beverages
- Physically able to lift and move up to 40 lbs. to a height of 5 feet, including food and non-food items
- Fluent in English, with effective verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
