Inpatient Therapist

Job Summary: 

To provide clinical services to all clients to ensure that the best possible treatment is provided to assist the client in improving their life.

Essential Functions: 

1. Ethics: a.) Provide direct care intervention services to clients in accordance with acceptable ethical principles and practices within the fields of Behavioral Health.
2. Relations with Employee, Consumer, & Community Partners: a.) facilitate a training and/or participate in community event b.) treat consumers with dignity and respect c.) interact with employees and community partners in a in a professional and respectful manner and be an advocate for consumers through and with these interactions.
3. Consult with other therapists, physicians, and management regarding clients as needed: a.) participate in staffing's minimum of 2 hours/month b.) remain current on requirements for cases staffed-With 90% accuracy as observed by management and client survey.
4. Ensure that all documentation regarding the treatment services provided is documented in accordance with professional, ethical standards and principles and in conjunction with policies and procedures in this area. 90-95% determined by review of the medical records.
5. Documentation: a.) ensures all documentation regarding the treatment services provided is documented in accordance with professional, ethical standards and principles and in conjunction with policies and procedures in this area as evidenced by b.) Adhere to the applicable core functions- medical records, deficiency lists, caseloads, and case reviews have 90-95% compliance rate.
6. Professional Development: a.) Complete annual training per training profile requirements for position as maintained by the HR/Training Department b.) Ensure required continuing education and licensing requirements are met as required by state boards of the respective disciplines of the agency. 100% accuracy required and determined by submission of attendance and recertification documentation. c.) Clinical supervision:

I. Clinical supervisees

aa. Receive clinical supervision as required by Professional Board of State and per Organization’s policy

1. Safety: Maintain a safe work environment as evidenced by a.) acting in accordance with safety rules as part of clinical practice i. set up office in a safe manner ii. make others aware of difficult clients/sessions iii. report unsafe conditions to management b.) keep clients safe i. follow company protocol and practices ii. report incidents to DCBS or appropriate entity as required
2. Assist in all emergency situations as needed to ensure quality care to all clients in crisis. 95% accuracy required as determined by management.
3. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

1. Masters or Doctoral degree required in applicable fields as determined by funding agencies. Bachelor’s degree accepted for those employees hired before 10/1/98.
2. Licensure/Certification:
   1. Certification and or licensure as required by the state board of the appropriate discipline to provide clinical services.
   2. Valid driver's license with good driving record.
   3. Suitability for employment is subject to a criminal background check.
3. Experience: Minimum of two years’ clinical experience preferred, however candidates with less experience who can meet the state requirements to provide clinical services within their field will be considered.

Knowledge and Skills: 

1. Excellent clinical skills in assessment, intervention, and treatment planning.
2. Good verbal and written communication skills.
3. Ability to deal effectively with the public.
4. Ability to maintain confidentiality with all clients and staff.
5. Must exhibit consistent mental and emotional ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job.
