Job Summary:
Skilled maintenance worker who performs essential maintenance and general upkeep tasks throughout facilities. This position is responsible for a wide variety of activities such as: preventative maintenance, repairs, and cleanup to ensure that facilities are functional, safe and tidy.
Essential Functions:
General Maintenance:
- Maintains grounds as needed. (Traditional lawn care is typically provided by an outside service. However, may be required from time to time as needed.)

Maintains facilities’ lighting by replacing bulbs and fixtures as needed or as assigned.
- Checks control panels and electrical wiring to identify potential or existing issues.
- Installs necessary appliances and equipment as needed.
- Performs basic repairs as needed such as: repairing broken locks, damage to walls, clogged drains, etc.
- Responds to FIX requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Reports, to Maintenance Supervisor, regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress.
- Preventative Maintenance Checks for assigned facilities:
- Performs monthly checks.
- Makes or recommends repairs as a result of the Preventative Maintenance Checks.
- Tests the functionality of the facility’s safety systems
- Assist with performing Monthly Drills such as Fire Drills, Active Shooter Drills.
- Maintains the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
- Collaboration Expectations:
- Collaborates with a team of workers and other professionals during renovations and facility expansions.
- Fosters collaborative working relationships among members of the leadership and management teams and programs.
- Other duties, as determined and assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
- One (1) year of related experience
- Valid Driver’s License
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proven experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position, preferably in a corporate, office or shared residential setting.
- Working knowledge of and experience with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and electrical systems.
- Experience working with tools and equipment, including hand and electrical tools.
- Ability to assist with assembling, moving and relocating furniture and equipment as assigned.
- Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be professional, patient and respectful to clients, coworkers and contractors at all times.
- General passion for and ability to provide creative problem-solving.
