Description
Job Summary:
A Substance Abuse Worker provides basic supervision and assistance to clients of a residential substance abuse program. The Certified Adult Peer Support Specialist (APSS) provide assistance to clients of a substance abuse program using their unique lived experiences to guide and support others in some form of recovery.
Essential Duties:
- Supervises clients during shift. This includes bed checks, meal supervision, taking vitals, observing self-administration of meds, and supervising passes and visitors.
- Provides assistance to office support staff by copying forms, filing, and recombining charts that are ready for termination as necessary.
- Leads “pass” process group on Sunday or other support type groups and documents on each client.
- Facilitates community building exercises and orientation groups. Handles the logistics of patient arrival and departure. Manages follow up appointments.
- Transports clients to and from CFC, recreational outings and doctor appointments. Monitors and documents client behaviors. Attends and helps document Family Educational groups.
- Fosters collaborative working relationships among members of the leadership and management teams and programs.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must possess valid driver’s license
- Certified Adult Peer Support Specialist also requires Kentucky Certified Adult Peer Support Specialist (APSS) designation
