Position Summary:
The Connections Pastor/Ministry Lead is responsible for championing connection and assisting campus staff in developing leaders and providing pastoral care, under the vision of the Campus Pastor. He/She is the campus lead for implementation of central connection strategies at their specific campus.
Hours: This position is part-time, and is 24 hours per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Connections Pastor/Ministry Lead is required to perform a range of duties including, but not limited to:
Champion Connection
- Be the campus leader for all connection related programs – Small Groups, Serve Groups, Serve Our Community (as needed), Welcome Home groups, and guest services
- Continually identify, recruit, and develop new small group and serve team leaders and coaches
- Work with the campus staff to strategically grow campus involvement in small groups, serve teams, and the Discipleship Pathway
- Champion involvement in church and campus-wide Serve our Community Projects
- Oversee and encourage small group ownership of Serve our Community projects in the community
- Champion involvement in Welcome Home groups with guests and disengaged attenders
- Ensure all weekend connect card follow up and requests are attended to
- Connect with campus attendees weekly (face-to-face, phone calls, and Zoom), as well as those who are disengaged in the life of the church
- Manage host team resources, Serve Team training, and overall operations of Guest Services
- Oversee and manage Prayer Teams for all services
- Work closely with Central connections team on curriculum improvements, marketing efforts, Welcome Home groups attendance reporting, etc. for all applicable connections’ programs
- Work closely with central staff to strategize and implement the vision for connection strategies across all River Valley Church campuses
- Provide Feedback to Central Connections team on proposed strategies.
- Attend and Participate in all Connections team meetings (including Ministry Mondays)
Leadership Development
- Be intentional about building relationships with the campus deacons, coaches, leaders, and small group and serve team members
- Help identify problems, find solutions, and handle conflicts within the campus leadership structure
- Train and CARE for small group and serve team coaches so they are developing and coaching other small group and serve team leaders.
Weekend Service Responsibilities
- Work Lobby and Serve Team areas before, after, and during service, making it a priority to connect and encourage Serve Team members, leaders, and coaches
- Provide pastoral oversight for service elements such as water baptism, Global 5 spots, etc. as needed
Other Responsibilities
Individual will complete responsibilities in accordance with the church’s policies and applicable procedures as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead leaders
- Strong interpersonal communication and relational skills
- Ability to listen attentively and communicate with empathy
- Strong administrative duties, including work with Microsoft office suite and database software, preferred
Education
A four-year Bachelor’s Degree is required with preference given to a pastoral or other ministry-related degree. Qualified candidates should either have ministerial credentials or be working towards obtaining credentials. Credentials with the Assemblies of God are preferred.
Experience
Preferred candidates should have at least 3-5 years related experience.

Salary : $28,000 - $31,000
