Summary of the Position
The Branch Manager will lead a team of branch bankers in daily activities, workflow, and problem resolution. As a leader, they will create a culture of excellence among the branch employees, focusing on customer service, operations, employee development, regulatory compliance, and security and safety in accordance with the bank's objectives resulting in increased market share. They will demonstrate collaboration as a liaison between their team and other areas of the bank to provide the best client and employee experience as well as ensure regulatory compliance. Oversee recruiting, hiring, and training of the branch staff ensuring adequate coverage. Model the way by coaching, showing, and holding the team accountable for building strong client relationships by creating a culture of empowerment. Provide an enriched client experience where the best possible solutions are found and recommended to new and existing clients. Assist the bank's leadership in meeting the overall financial goals by prioritizing initiatives, setting plans, and developing action strategies needed to achieve desired results from the branch employees. Operate within the branch budget. This position requires compliance with all federal and state consumer regulations and will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate training is successfully completed within assigned deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Strong interpersonal, communication and delegation skills to manage customer relationships, resolve issues effectively, and support the development of a highly cross-trained and collaborative team.
- Identify individual and branch employees' needs and ensure necessary training takes place.
- Achieve Branch deposit market share growth goals by establishing a results-oriented culture. Motivate branch staff to ensure team and individual growth goals are being met.
- Skills in developing and implementing sales strategies to meet financial objectives.
- Works closely with lending and treasury management personnel, when appropriate, to deliver full-service banking solutions.
- Perform personnel actions including performance appraisals, document staff attendance and productivity, disciplinary actions, recognition, and interviewing candidates for employment.
- Develops deep client knowledge which enables the anticipation of client needs and retention.
- Consistently applies and models sound decision-making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals, and requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures, keeping within assigned approval limits and using instances of noncompliance as learning tools for employee development.
- Ability to address and resolve customer complaints and operational issues promptly.
- Participate in marketing, sales, business development, and community service.
- Participate in and ensure oversight of branch audits to ensure cooperation and timely completion.
- Ensure the audit results are satisfactorily rated and that there are no repeat findings.
- Create a culture that appropriately weighs regulatory compliance obligations within area of responsibility; collaborates across department lines in this capacity.
- Manage branch cash including researching cash outages, reviewing limits, and limiting loss exposure.
- Minimize branch expenses and operational losses.
- Manage technology, facilities, and coordination of operations with other functional areas within the Bank.
- Deep understanding of banking operations, financial laws, and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and deposit regulations.
- Complete assigned regulatory compliance training within established deadlines.
- Ensure that all staff are scheduled for compliance training and successfully complete the training within set deadlines.
- Ensure branch staff are effectively informed about ongoing procedure changes, new product roll out and product marketing campaigns.
Qualifications
- Five or more years of branch banking, finance, or operations experience.
- Four or more years of proven people leadership experience.
- Knowledge of bank financial products and services.
- Knowledge of all applicable banking rules and regulations.
- Business acumen includes knowledge and understanding of how to read and manage line of business financial statements (balance sheet and income statement) and budget.
- Ability to treat people with respect, keep commitments, and inspire the trust of others.
- Able to delegate appropriately, work ethically and with integrity, and uphold organizational values.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Sound analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to engage in difficult conversations, listen with empathy and deescalate situations.
- Intermediate skills in computer operation, word processing, and spreadsheet software programs.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, read, analyze, and interpret many different types of communication materials.

- Ability to work with little or no supervision while performing duties.
Education
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.

Work Environment
- Office environment requires sitting and/or standing for one or more continuous hours, some travel within the bank footprint for client appointments, bank meetings, and community events.
