What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interpreter position at RIVER VALLEY COUNSELING CENTER, INC?
The Holyoke Visiting Nurses Association, Inc. is looking to hire a Per Diem Interpreter to work for the agency. The interpreter will escort and interpret for the nursing and rehabilitation staff on their visits to the patient's place of residence. This interpretation must be particularly accurate, since the staff will make medical assessments based on interpretation. The staff will also be instructing clients on complex matters such as medication, treatments, precautions, diets, and disease, and therefore, will need an interpreter to relay this information. Responsible for understanding the specifics of both HVNA & HLC programs and conveying the same to patients and families as needed. Clarifying terminology to assure accurate interpretation. Responsible for recognizing potentially dangerous situations and reacting quickly and appropriately to avoid physical harm to self and staff members, or damage to property. Maintain confidentiality during and after working hours. Translate telephone calls for Spanish-speaking clients. Maintain a professional demeanor while in contact with clients and staff during working hours. Assist in Medical Records as time allows. Assist with Telehealth monitor installs.
