River Valley Holdings is a family-owned distribution company based in Syracuse, NY, serving retail customers across the northeastern United States. The River Valley family of companies: River Valley Foods, Cavallaro Foods and Garden Spot Foods, distributes a wide range of specialty dry and frozen grocery items and consumable products out of warehouses in Syracuse, NY and New Holland, PA.
General Description/Purpose: Food Innovations/Ecommerce processing
The Ecommerce/Forklift position is responsible for accurately and efficiently selecting FI/Ecomm orders, processing through Ship station, packaging and shipping orders to customers. Other duties to include but not limited to scanning freight to their assigned locations in the warehouse. This position reports to the First Shift Supervisor.
Work Schedule:
- Monday - Friday 7am-3:45pm
Wages:
- $20.25 per hour
Job Responsibilities:
- Arrive on-time for the start of the scheduled shift and attend the daily start-up meeting
- Perform a pre-operation inspection of any equipment being used for selection
- Accurately select orders, process orders into Ship station, ship to correct customer address.
- Follow company and SQF guidelines when handling products, including the handling of damaged cases discovered in the warehouse
- Wrap pallets as needed to ensure stability through the warehouse and examine the pallet.
- Operate all equipment in a safe manner at all times
- Additional duties (selecting, cleaning, replenishing bays, or others) requested by supervisor
- Process e-comm orders
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand English in order to understand customer orders and supervisor instructions
- Able to operate the RF guns accurately
- Ability to accurately select product using selection label
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Forklift experience preferred but not required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
