The River Valley family of companies: River Valley Foods, Cavallaro Foods and Garden Spot Foods, distributes a wide range of specialty dry and frozen grocery items and consumable products out of warehouses in Syracuse, NY and New Holland, PA.
General Description/Purpose:
This position is based in Syracuse and works closely with the Warehouse and Transportation departments to maintain inbound and back-haul scheduling. The Office Clerk is a critical interface between our customers and fulfillment teams and is an important contributor to ensuring a successful logistics process. The successful candidate is dependable, efficient, always focused on details, and able to build lasting positive relationships with customers and team members in order to provide exceptional service and deliver outstanding results.
The Warehouse Dock Office Clerk reports to the Frozen Warehouse Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Answering and returning phone calls and emails for receiving appointments
- Enter receiving appointments in the company systems
- Allocate, print, and separate orders for selection
- Confirm and print invoices
- Create cross dock sheets and load diagrams
- Assist customers and respond to incoming calls, email, and postal mail communication
- Coordinate with transportation department and outside carriers for outbound shipping needs
- Build lasting customer relationships through positive communication and resolution of concerns
- Seamlessly handle numerous and varied daily tasks
- Perform additional job duties as required
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Able to read and speak English
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft programs (Excel, Outlook, Word) and ability to apply that knowledge to daily tasks
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment while performing daily tasks
- Organized, self-motivated and able to work with careful attention to detail
- Regularly use active listening and critical thinking skills to solve problems
- Ability to adapt, demonstrate flexibility and prioritize work
- Ability to communicate effectively and use teamwork to achieve goals
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must have at least one year of administrative experience inclusive of data entry
Work Schedule:
- Sunday – Thursday, 10:30am – until work is finished
Wages:
- $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
