Job Overview:
The Maintenance Manager at River Valley Pipe, LLC is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities, ensuring the efficiency and longevity of equipment and facilities. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with the production team to implement solutions for lean manufacturing and process improvements.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Preventative Maintenance:
a. Develop and maintain a detailed preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment, ensuring adherence to prevent breakdowns.
b. Perform routine inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and part replacements as specified in the maintenance schedule.
c. Keep detailed records of all maintenance activities, including date, time, and description of the work performed.
d. Continuously assess and improve the effectiveness of the preventative maintenance program. Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance maintenance processes.
2. Spare Parts Inventory Control:
a. Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts necessary for routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
b. Ensure timely ordering and replenishment of spare parts to prevent stockouts.
c. Organize the spare parts storage area for easy access and efficient use of space.
d. Conduct regular audits of spare parts inventory, place orders based on inventory levels and lead times, verify and document received parts, and update inventory records.
3. Equipment and Building Repairs:
a. Coordinate and perform repairs on equipment and facilities, minimizing disruption to production.
b. Work with external vendors for specialized repairs or services.
c. Keep records of all repairs, including costs, parts used, and time taken.
d. Identify and diagnose faults, plan and prioritize repair tasks, execute repairs, document activities, and conduct follow-up inspections to ensure effectiveness.
4. Safety Committee Participation:
a. Actively participate in Safety Committee meetings and initiatives.
b. Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and facilities.
c. Report and document any safety incidents or hazards.
d. Attend all scheduled Safety Committee meetings, perform safety audits, respond to and document safety incidents promptly, and implement safety recommendations.
5. Production Support/Troubleshooting:
a. Quickly diagnose and resolve equipment issues to support continuous production.
b. Work closely with production teams to identify and address recurring issues.
c. Train production staff on basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
d. Identify equipment issues through regular communication, provide immediate troubleshooting and repairs, conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues, and document all troubleshooting activities and resolutions.
6. General Duties
a. Demonstrate leadership in providing and implementing solutions for lean manufacturing and process improvements.
b. Lead support and training for personnel in tooling changeovers, train new Line Operators, and assist in machinery upgrades or new machinery installs.
c. Maintain availability for on-call off-shift hours to support all maintenance/machinery issues.
d. Demonstrate the ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks to meet production goals.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalency is required.
- Experience:
o At least one year of maintenance experience is required.
o Factory work experience is preferred.
