The Club Coordinator is responsible for planning, maintaining, organizing, and implementing RVSRA’s adult day program for participants with disabilities. This position is part time and supervises part-time Program Aides assigned to the adult day program.
Description
Essential Job Functions
- Plan, organize, and lead recreational programs for individuals with disabilities in RVSRA’s adult day program (21 years old ).
- Responsible for creating a daily curriculum to include life skills activities, recreational activities, and planning community outings/trips.
- Understand the needs of persons with disabilities and adapt activities to enable participation.
- Complete credit card requests, board reports, and receipt submission in a timely manner.
- Prepare and implement behavior management strategies when necessary, to ensure safe involvement in recreation programs.
- Directly supervises program aides and volunteers during programs.
- Maintain constant communication and quality customer service with parents, staff, and participants.
- Prepare, purchase, and gather materials for program and assist in program clean up.
- Responsible for record-keeping such as attendance sheets, as well as incident and accident reporting forms, behavior reports, etc.
- Creates and implements budgets for assigned areas.
- Report any problems or concerns to the Director of Programming.
- Communicate effectively with individuals, and large and small groups of people.
- Solve moderate to complex problems regarding the program, participants, or supervision of part-time employees and volunteers.
- Drive RVSRA vehicles, only if older than 21 years of age.
- Read, understand, and abide by all RVSRA policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation, Special Education, or a related field.
- 2-3 years experience in a Therapeutic Recreation or Education setting.
- Current CPR certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Availability to commit to assigned work times. Must be able to communicate effectively and demonstrate leadership skills.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly $19-$21
- Paid time off
Evaluation and Review
- Performance Evaluation completed by the Executive Director annually.
- Attend annual trainings and conferences to further education.
Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director
Supervisor Duties: Responsible for overseeing Program Aides and volunteers during programs.
Hours of Work: Part-time, non-exempt position.
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 8:30 AM- 3:30 PM on site/ 3-4 hours a week (hybrid)
