Summer Camp Counselors| 2025 Summer
River Valley Waldorf School is seeking lead, support, and junior camp counselors for our Summer Explorations Camps.
Positions are available for the following age groups and concentrations:
Early Childhood (Ages 4-6) Four Elements Nature Camp Lead Counselor July 1- August 1
Early Childhood (Ages 4-6) Four Elements Nature Camp Support Counselor July 1- August 1
Fine Arts Camp (Ages 11-14) Middle School Fine Art Camp July 7 – July 18
Theatre Camp (Ages 11-14) July 21 – August 1
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a strong interest in Waldorf education and child development, coupled with enthusiasm and experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting. They should possess excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills, along with patience, creativity, initiative, and flexibility. The ability to effectively manage and lead or assist small groups of campers is essential to creating a supportive and engaging environment. All counselors must be able to complete required clearances.
General Description
Summer Camp lead counselors are responsible for planning, leading, and assisting activities with children Mondays through Thursdays. Counselors help to foster a fun and positive learning environment by facilitating friendships and teamwork among campers while acting as the loving authority for the group.
The 7-acres of River Valley Waldorf School sits on forested hills that overlook the Delaware River on unceded Lenni-Lenape land. We are so grateful for the First Nations people’s reverent caretaking of the land we now call Upper Black Eddy, Pennsylvania. Upper Black Eddy is located in Bucks County and only 40-60 minutes from major metropolitan areas. Our programs include a caregiver-child program, mixed-age early childhood classes, and grades one through eight. The River Valley community strives to be supportive, and welcoming, and the school has recently deepened its commitment to diversity and equity initiatives. The school is a full member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN) and is accredited by both the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) and the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools (PAIS).
