Looking for an incredible summer position which allows for weekends and evenings off? Spend your days outdoors on the beautiful Pine Flat Lake, in the foothills of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Operating River Way’s 55-foot, two-story houseboat known as Lombardo, our Houseboat Captain has one of the most rewarding jobs at River Way. It comes equipped with two water slides, top jumping planks from the 25 foot high houseboat, and an ADA-sanctioned bathroom! Our Captain works alongside some of the most qualified waterski and wakeboard instructors in the nation to teach children the sports.
THE HOUSEBOAT CAPTAIN WITH BE ABLE TO:
Provide Current Captain's License (For Hire Vessel Operator)
Operate large vessel known as Lombardo
Assist with the quality of lake operations
Assist Ski Director with the quality of ski camp

This offer includes room and board from End of May – August 8th, life guard/CPR/first aid certifications, vessel license certification and 56-hours of intensive leadership training. This position is paid and is a Monday-Friday position from 7am-5pm with the exception of some evenings. River Way Ranch Camp provides opportunities for learning and advancement.

Oversee all functions of the Houseboat Operation, including:
- Houseboat inventory
- First aid kit and supplies
- Drive houseboat daily and operate safely for waterfront program.
- Responsible for safety of all campers and staff on the houseboat
- Ensuring safe parameters for our program on a public lake
- Positive public relations with marina staff
- Gas log
- Accountable for preparing and cleaning houseboat for next group of campers
Must have a Current For Hire Vessel Operator's License or be willing to obtain one before the start of camp.
