JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Site Administrator or designee; performs the necessary duties to assist in the supervision of students during lunch and lunch recess.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
District policies and procedures as they apply; Oral and written communication skills; Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
Ability to: > Carry out oral and written instructions > Work effectively with students, staff, parents and others > Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents and others > Respect the confidentiality of work-related incidental information > Plan and organize work > Stand for extended periods of time > See for purposes of reading printed matter and observing students > Hear and understand speech at normal levels > Communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation > Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures > Walk for extended periods of time > Speak and understand Spanish is desirable > Interact and communicate positively with students > Bend and twist, stoop, knee, run and crawl > Lift 25 pounds > Carry 15 pounds > Reach in all directions Experience: At least one year of child/youth-related experience or equivalent training desirable. Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED required; related training or experience is desirable. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION: 1 Functions as a supervisor of students outside of classes as directed by the on-site administrator or his/her designee. 2 Supervises students and holds them accountable to meet minimum expectations regarding school requirements for health, safety, respect for others, and rules. 3 Assists in monitoring students, maintain appropriate conduct (as per school requirements) by student during lunch session. 4 Be calm in resolving emergencies by sending or calling for help, as deemed necessary, from the administrator, nurse or designated employee; or, by resolving it by yourself. 5 Handle emergencies and perform other related assignments as directed by the principal or his/her designee. 6 Carry out written and oral instructions 7 Function as an appropriate role model for students 8 Performs other duties as assigned Conditions of Employment: Possession of valid First Aid and CPR Certificates required.
