What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control and Distribution Supervisor position at Riverbay Corporation?
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise Inventory Control personnel, including hiring, performance management, and discipline.
- Prepare consumption and demands forecasting reports and analyze peak delivery periods issues.
- Oversees inventory control Yardi system and makes recommendations.
- Ensures there is sufficient inventory of all the products, materials, equipment and supplies needed by Riverbay to operate efficiently.
- Investigates root causes for inventory discrepancies & solutions.
- Follows up with suppliers to ensure that deliveries are made on time and escalate issues as required.
- Promptly receives and processes invoices from suppliers on an ongoing basis to ensure suppliers are paid on time.
- Researches any variances and authorizes appropriate inventory adjustments.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Note: All procurement-related activities need to conform with all regulatory requirements, including but not limited to, NY State Division of Community Renewal (DHCR), Federal and corporate regulations
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Related Vocational/Technical courses, a plus
- Valid NY, NJ, CT, or PA Driver’s license in good standing is required.
- Forklift-certified
Work Experience and Minimum Requirements:
- Five (5) years of supervisory or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and equipment
- Strong communication skills.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational and management skills.
- Ability to manage simultaneous demand while meeting deadlines; Strong multi-tasking skills.
- Strong analytical ability
- Ability to work with all levels of staff of the organization.
- Familiarity with DHCR & OHSA regulatory guidelines and safety requirements.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
Testing:
- Drug screening, as permitted by, and consistent with, applicable law.
Physical Requirements:
Persons performing service in this position classification may routinely exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work will involve regular walking or standing for extended periods of time. It may involve stooping or bending. Handling and working with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
