What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Engineer position at Riverbay Corporation?
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strong experience with Level 2/Level 3 VDI, Horizon, NetApp Support, creating images, and other desktop Engineer tasks
- Design, install, configure and desktop virtualization environments
- Install, configure, testing, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot VDI environment
- Experience with VDI storage & NetApp volumes
- Ensure virtualization systems are compliant with security standards
- Utilize the external ticket management system to record, update and resolve tickets working with the helpdesk team
- Upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring virtual desktop operations
- Basic Rubrik backup support experience preferred
- Perform other duties as needed or as assigned by director
Educational Requirements:
- VDI certifications, preferred
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred
Work Experience and Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience to include Horizon View, Active Directory or similar
- Experience configuring, installing, troubleshooting VDIs
- Working knowledge of AD and basic network administration
- Knowledge of VMWare, Horizon and VMware View
- Knowledge in creating VDI Pools
- Netapp experience, preferred
- Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with ticketing systems
- Ability to work autonomously and within team
- Experience working with internal/external teams to assist with IT issues
Testing:
- Drug screening, as permitted by, and consistent with, applicable law.
Physical Requirements:
Persons performing service in this position classification may routinely exert up to 25 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work will involve regular walking or standing for extended periods of time. It may involve stooping or bending. Handling and working with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
