We are seeking an experienced Controller who possesses a comprehensive understanding of government cost accounting and a proven track record in managing financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Government Cost Accounting:
- Ensure compliance with government cost accounting standards and regulations.
- Oversee cost allocation processes and maintain accurate financial records.
P&L Management:
- Take full ownership of the Profit and Loss statement, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
- Foster collaboration and effective communication across the organization.
Project Accounting:
- Oversee accounting in accordance with ASC 606 and Percentage of Completion (POC) revenue recognition standards.
- Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of project-related financial data.
DCAA Compliance:
- Set up and operate within DCAA-compliant accounting environments.
- Manage DCAA reporting, including establishing and submitting Forward Pricing Rate Proposals (FPRP).
FAR/DFARS Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to FAR/DFARS requirements governing DOD prime contractors and subcontractors.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and their impact on financial operations.
Team Collaboration:
- Support team initiatives by actively participating in tasks and responsibilities.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a financial management role, with a strong focus on government cost accounting and project accounting.
- Proficiency in Costpoint ERP and experience in system implementation and training.
- Strong understanding of supply chain financial management.
- Experience with contracts and quoting processes in a government contracting environment.
- Familiarity with ASC 606, POC revenue recognition, and DCAA compliance.
- Knowledge of FAR/DFARS regulations for DOD contractors.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage relationships effectively.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
