Position Overview: The Supply Chain Manager will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness throughout our supply chain operations and capture process. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of supply chain management, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and supplier relationships and have principal responsibility for proposal writing and analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in defense industry supply chain management, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of implementing strategic initiatives to enhance operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize the company's supply chain processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Lead the procurement process, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management, to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality materials and components.
- Oversee inventory management practices to minimize carrying costs while maintaining sufficient stock levels to support production schedules and customer demand.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and finance, to coordinate supply chain activities and support overall business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and risk mitigation within the supply chain, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to drive continuous improvement.
- Stay informed of industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies impacting supply chain management in the defense sector, and proactively adapt strategies to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Foster strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors, cultivating partnerships based on trust, collaboration, and mutual benefit.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and contractual requirements governing supply chain operations, maintaining the highest levels of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 4-6 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of defense procurement regulations, including FAR and DFARS, and experience working with government contracts and subcontractors.
- Strong analytical skills and strategic mindset, with the ability to identify trends, analyze data, and make data-driven decisions to optimize supply chain performance.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements and driving operational excellence within a complex supply chain environment.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams, foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software, ERP systems, and other relevant tools and technologies.
