Job Summary
The Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst will be responsible for maintaining proprietary datasets related to our Natural Resources sector. This role will focus on bridging GIS and Engineering basin-wide evaluation models related to acquisitions in our core areas of focus in the lower 48 – Midland, Delaware, Williston, DJ, and Marcellus/Utica. This individual will utilize technical skills to create DSUs, Tracts/Leases, PUDs for various projects in our core areas of focus. This role will require working collaboratively with different departments such as Land, Engineering, Geology, and IT on related projects and tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Mapping drilling spacing units (DSUs) and upside drilling locations (PUDs)
- Working with various state-governing body websites (Oil & Gas/Natural Resources) to verify data related to wells, permits, and drilling units
- Querying GIS and Engineering databases using SQL
- Perform QC/QA on existing and new data to maintain our high standards
- Utilize automation and scripts to improve workflows
- Help create web applications in Portal (Dashboards, Experiences, Story Maps, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- ArcGIS Pro, Portal Web Apps
- Python scripting with various libraries, including ArcPy
- Enverus Products (Drillinginfo, Prism, etc.)
- Microsoft SQL Server (SQL), SSMS
- Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor's Degree (technical field preferred)
- 2 – 5 years of GIS/technical experience
- 2 – 5 years of Natural Resources industry experience
