The Opportunity
Riverbend is seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team at the Recovery Cafe-Lowell. You will be an integral player in our peer-to-peer recovery support and work collaboratively with you team to establish and maintain best supportive practices across all Riverbend peer-to-peer service. You will be supported by and report to the Program Director.
Skills Required:
You are an established team player and leader with the personal and leadership skills to elevate your team and peers. You have proven ability to maintain composure and exemplify to your team grace under pressure. You possess excellent organizational skills and can maintain prompt delivery of administrative scheduling and documentation.
Schedule: Tuesday thru Saturday availability is preferred along with evenings and Saturday availability
The Member Engagement Coordinator will work with the RCL Team to uphold an environment within the support center that is welcoming, all-inclusive, and celebrates all recovery pathways. The Member Engagement Coordinator is responsible for orienting new members to RCL and engaging with all members, which will include planning and facilitating support groups, activities, and events. The successful candidate will be a person with “lived experience” who thrives in an environment that continuously supports innovation, creativity, and the vision to grow with the members' ever-changing needs.
Responsibilities
Works with Senior Member Engagement Coordinator to develop a Member Advisory Board (MAB), ensuring that the group is diverse and promotes member empowerment.
Provides Program Director with monthly MAB report, including member program successes, program needs, program suggestions, and a tentative MAB plan for making program improvements.
Shares responsibility of utilizing Virtual Gateway system and AGENCY (Recovery Café database to track member activity.)
Shares responsibility for overseeing RCL front desk operations.
Maintains an up-to-date resource binder that staff can utilize to assist members in accessing resources.
Works with the RCL team to cultivate relationships with community partners interested in volunteering time or teaching a class.
Facilitates recovery circles and peer support groups.
Completes all required documentation promptly.
Follows all opening/closing procedures.
Participates in a weekly staff meeting and individual supervision with Program Director.
Adheres to the guiding principles of the Recovery Café Model and the BSAS standards of care.
Participates in training as required.
Required education and experience
Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent.
Communicates clearly
Demonstrates cultural competency
Has Completed Recovery Coach Academy and working towards Recovery Coach Certification.
Must possess a thorough understanding of the Recovery Coach Model and apply this knowledge in different settings.
Understands and supports multiple pathways of recovery.
Possesses the ability to work positively with co-workers and RCL members.
Possesses proficient computer and social media skills.
This position requires the successful completion of a CORI check.
